I give it a perfect 10.0/10: everything was absolutely fine—the place welcomed me in South Africa, I highly recommend it for solo travelers or groups, the rooms are spacious and comfortable with all necessary amenities, everyone is kind and caring, and I love it. No negatives, everything was perfect.

From the moment we stepped into Houghton Place, Pat welcomed us and guided us to a roomy, well‑presented room where the bed felt incredibly comfortable after a long trip; later we dined out and came back to find Janice and Sam inviting us for wine and conversation, turning a simple chat into a memorable evening that made us feel at home; each morning started with a superb breakfast featuring eggs, bacon, fruit salad, cereals, and yoghurt, proving that Houghton Place is more than just a stay—it’s genuine hospitality, and we left as friends rather than customers, ready to return and highly recommend it.
