“Rooms with an interesting style”

We stayed in a historic mansion that felt like stepping back in time, with roomy rooms and cozy beds. The antique furniture added charm, and the location was perfect for walking into downtown. The staff were friendly and let us drop off our luggage at the front desk all day while we waited for our evening flight. The place could use a touch of freshening, especially in the common areas, and the carpet in the room was a bit worn, though overall the hotel was clean. A student pub right next door can get noisy, but our room faced the back and was quiet enough for a good night's sleep. The room lacked blackout curtains, so mornings were bright.

“Overall the stay was good”

We booked two rooms; the second one was noticeably better. The hotel is old-school, but the price is reasonable given its prime spot. The outdoor area could use a bit more tidying up.

The Madison is conveniently located near city transit. The bed was very comfortable, and I appreciated a spacious chest of drawers—something newer hotels often lack. The room was small but spotless and had everything we needed. Parking behind the hotel was paid but convenient. I’ve stayed in a junior suite before, which offered much more space and was worth the upgrade. A breakfast would have been nice, and the entry stairs and carpet could use a refresh.

“Comfortable, clean, aesthetically pleasing”

Everything ran smoothly during my stay. The room was tidy with nice décor, and the location was great. I stayed on weeknights, so I’m not sure how loud the bar next door can get, but it didn’t bother me. It would have been nice to have an optional breakfast, and checking in at the bar next door wasn’t ideal.
