“A real gem, perfect for a city break.”

My husband and I had a pleasant 2‑night stay at Gunmakers, a charming property tucked away on a quiet side street. The bed was comfortable, the room was spacious with separate sleeping and seating areas, and the bathroom had a shower. The room also had tea and coffee facilities, a hairdryer, iron, and board. The staff were helpful, and the pub downstairs was nice. Be aware that there are many stairs and no lift. The location is great, within easy walking distance to the Tube, shops, and restaurants. The only small issues were that the shower could have been slightly warmer and the table for the kettle/coffee machine could have been a bit larger, but that’s all. We would stay there again and highly recommend it.

The location is unbeatable, right in the heart of Marylebone. The bed is comfortable and the room is pretty. The staff were friendly. The shower had low pressure in the morning and it was hard to set the temperature correctly. There was little space for luggage, and the internet connection on the TV didn’t work. Leaving bags unattended at the bottom of the stairs didn’t inspire confidence, as any guest with the code could rummage or steal them. The coffee was instant. The pub closed early on Sunday evenings (earlier than the official hours listed) because “it was quiet.” There was a disgusting smell in the bathroom. Although the staff were friendly, they were rather nonchalant—the bartender who greeted us didn’t know the check‑out time, and the woman present in the morning didn’t get up to show where to leave luggage or ask how the stay had been. It felt like the pub was the priority, not the hotel guests, which is a shame.

The location is ideal for Marylebone High Street and for bus or tube access to all main London attractions. The room was comfortable and clean, the kitchen area was useful, and the bathroom/shower was great. There are no major complaints; some people might find the stairs a bit tough, and a dishcloth and tea towel in the kitchen area would have been helpful, but these are minor gripes.
