“Would stay again!”

I’m really pleased with this hostel. I was nervous about the mixed rooms, but the beds are separated by walls and a heavy curtain, so I barely noticed the men. The bathrooms are excellent; showers have a dry area where you can change privately, and there’s a makeup room with great mirrors and hair dryers. The staff are kind and the place is spotless, so I’d stay again! It was a bit noisy at night with people coming in and out of the rooms, so I’d suggest requesting a bed in the corner. The staff have earplugs if you need them. The street the hostel is on isn’t great and can feel a bit scary, though no one bothered me; use caution. I felt a bit cold because they only provide a light blanket and no bedsheets, and the towel was small. If you have space in your suitcase, bring some extra.

The bathroom could at least have hangers for clothes to hang while showering or changing.

A very good youth hostel just a 15‑minute walk from the convention centre and 25 minutes from the park next to San Diego’s zoo; it’s also only one block from the tram, so nothing to complain about. Though it’s a hostel, the sheets that separate the beds are thick enough that you can’t hear the neighbours.
