Backeddy Resort and Marina

Everything overall was great. I’d stayed here before in one of the smaller cabins; this one was a little bigger and could fit another person with the pull‑out bed. The location was great and the staff were excellent. A few more basic cabin amenities would help: a toaster, an extra bag of coffee for more than one morning, scissors, more kindling for starting a fire, and only one large match.

What a beautiful location! So peaceful and tranquil! The only thing I didn’t like is the walls were paper thin and I could clearly hear the people next door snoring; otherwise it was really good!

The spot is gorgeous, and my cabin felt snug and ideal for a break. The only downside was the lack of light near the bed; I mentioned it at check‑out and they promised to add one.

The marina looks nice and there’s a cool pub with good food. The room was poorly cleaned: the floor wasn’t clean, there were large grease drips on the stove handles, and the team seemed understaffed—cleaning didn’t even start until we arrived. The bedroom smelled like diesel fuel, the place had potential but was kept in bad condition. The bed was very short and so firm that both of us kept sliding into the middle.

“Appreciated the available booking, very much last minute in the weeks before.”

It was peaceful; one morning I woke before 7, sat on the dock, and the only sounds were waves, birds, and seals—refreshing. A good place to stay when we’re doing things around Ruby Lake and Skookumchuck Narrows. The late‑night nightclub party (maybe a wedding?) in Egmont was a bit noisy.
