The location was decent for breaking up our journey, but it felt isolated and the train ran close by. Cleanliness was lacking, the breakfast selection was almost nonexistent, and many items were placed over the ticket.

Everything was clean and brand new, the breakfast was tasty and the dining area stayed tidy. We were fine, but there was no pool; the place is very basic, so if you just need a place to crash it works well.

The staff were super friendly, the building was new, and the location was convenient for this tiny town. We arrived late because of a fire nearby, found someone’s water cup in the fridge, discovered hair in the shower, and a TV remote that had no volume or channel buttons. Worse, the place is apparently pet‑friendly and a corner near the door had a strong urine smell, plus a flat tray under the luggage bench that I think holds dog pee pads. No one mentioned the 3:30 am train alarm that blares its horn.

The location was good for family, and there was coffee in the lobby. The air conditioner was very loud, the toilet clogged and we reported it in the morning but nothing was fixed by 8 pm. The maid didn’t clean our room the first day, and we had to ask because no one told us at check‑in. The hotel needs to step up. When breakfast opened, nothing seemed replenished and staff were just sitting around. Brochure racks were almost empty, and the few brochures left were old, clearly showing a lack of attention to detail. I’ll consider staying in Newcastle next time.
