The beds were comfortable and the staff seemed to know some of the more regular customers, which was nice to see. The Wi‑Fi was quite poor, and since there was a bar area it would have been good to have some TVs with football on display.

I was able to book an hour earlier because I arrived early after a long journey. The restaurant was very busy on Sunday morning and was full. The free tables were covered in dirty crockery and the staff were clearly understaffed. We couldn’t get a full breakfast. Only one tray had food in it and people were hanging around waiting. I managed to get scrambled eggs, which were very good, but no other food came out at the same time. I would stay at the hotel again but I wouldn’t order breakfast. I booked seven breakfasts for my party, none of us actually got one.

The breakfast selection was tiny, the coffee machine dragged, and a long line formed; staff only refilled food after it ran out, so several dishes vanished at once, narrowing choices and forcing more waiting for replacements.
