Merewether Motel

Convenient location for our reason to be in Merewether. 1. The room was so small there was only just enough room to walk around the bed. Nowhere to put suitcases and other travel stuff. There were a table and two chairs that further cluttered to room and took up valuable space. The whole living space is poorly designed and clearly has tried to pack everything into it. 2. Bathroom is equally small with nowhere to put our basic requirements for the bathroom - no shelf, no cabinet, just a toilet with a hand basin as part of the flushing system. Shower fluctuated between boiling hot and freezing cold. Not good at all. 3. Car spaces are tight and little room to turn around. I do not have a large vehicle (average sized sedan). Had to reverse out all the way out onto the road. 4. Major signage at the front of the motel said "Free Foxtel". Well there was no Foxtell 5. When our circumstances changed (emotional occurrence) and we had to leave a day earlier than planned, we were not given any consideration for a possible one-night credit for next time or even a partial refund. A little bit of empathy would have been appreciated. 6. As part of the booking system, age must be a consideration. We are both in our 80s but had to carry all our luggage up stairs to the first level. No rooms available on the gound floor

“Overall, we had a pleasant stay and found the motel to be good value for money.”

The room was small but met our needs and didn’t bother us. The bed was comfortable, the linen clean and white, and the split‑system air conditioner cooled the room quickly and kept it comfortable throughout our stay. The bathroom has a compact basin above the toilet, but we rarely used it because there was a larger sink in the main room near the bed, which we found more convenient for washing up or brushing teeth. The TV was small, more like a computer monitor mounted on the wall in front of the bed. The balcony was compact, but it worked well for smokers or vapers. We were given an upper‑level room, so we had to carry our luggage up the stairs. The motel has no lift, which is worth noting for guests with mobility concerns or heavy luggage. If accessibility matters, I’d suggest asking for a ground‑floor room when booking.

“Good location for us, great value for money, clean and comfortable room,basic breakfast available”

Breakfast was small but functional and offered good value. The bathroom’s water‑saving basin was too tiny for nighttime routines like brushing teeth or washing face, but the eco‑friendly concept was appreciated.

The room and facilities were fantastic, clean and comfortable I appreciated the bathroom/toilet facility, especially the toilet with the wash basin how it flows into the toilet cistern, as I am based in a water restricted region of SWQLD. The pool area was unavailable during my stay

“Good for one night stay”

Great location, walking distance to places, well suited for a 1 night stay when its at a discounted rate. The room had an overwhelming smell of bleach the whole time, the other rooms with balconies likely would be better but the studio room we booked the bed was very uncomfortable and the air-con did not work apart from the on button. Therefore either had it 18 cold blowing directly at you or off and suffer hot
