Matoula Beach

The family‑run hotel felt welcoming and the gardens were lovely and spacious, unlike some bigger hotels where sunbeds line up side‑by‑side with no room to spare. At Matoula the sunbeds are spaced out under umbrellas around the gardens. The hairdryer in our room was wall‑mounted with just a pipe and nozzle that kept cutting out whenever the pipe moved; luckily my friends stayed in another room with a proper hairdryer that I used, otherwise I would never have dried my hair. Also, a suggestion for the ground‑floor rooms: privacy curtains on the windows would help, as we had to close the main curtains every time we wanted to rest or change because we were overlooked. Apart from that, the room and stay were perfect.

“Good for a quick stay”

The staff were very nice and helpful, and they also offered city transfers for an extra cost that were easy to book and arrived on time; they even arranged a taxi for us very early in the morning. The hotel is close to the beach, with plenty of ATV/moped rentals nearby and a water park just across the street, which is decent for a one‑night stay. The rooms, however, could definitely use an upgrade—they feel a bit run‑down, are small, and there was an unpleasant smell when we arrived.

The room is large, clean, and fragrant. Breakfast is decent. The reception staff are very helpful. The only downside is the noise from planes passing overhead.
