Hotel am Friedberger See

The surroundings were only useful for passing through. The faucet in the bathroom was loose, and there were a lot of cobwebs behind the single bed.

Dear hotel operators, dear staff, our stay here was overall quite acceptable. We slept well and woke refreshed, ready to start the day. The quiet in the room and the comfort of the beds were good! What was not nice at all was that when we arrived at 17 h we found no one but a key in an envelope. The first glance at the room was positive, but the first look at the bathroom was not. Not because of the later added space – we understand that such a building requires this solution – but because an empty toilet paper roll greeted us and no replacement was available. If I see that, the room staff should see it too. Also the towels had unfortunately passed their zenith and smelled after the first wetness, no longer fresh. They should definitely be replaced. We also wished for a tiny fridge for at least a small water bottle or a few cans; that would have been a real problem in summer. And an extra bedside lamp is essential in a triple room; one is simply not enough. Unfortunately I was in a good mood despite many bad reviews online. I came from here and booked the hotel. But I cannot recommend it further and do not want to return. I am sorry. I also come from the cleaning sector and my mother has cleaned and supervised at the Brunnenhotel for years. I know it could be different and I find it a pity that no effort is made to maintain and operate such a beautiful house. That is where faceless hotel chains can easily win! The owner (?) who came in the morning and with whom we paid was very friendly. It was very simple, we had a ground‑floor room, and at night people passed by loudly talking. I find the carpet in such rooms very unhygienic. The smell in the room was initially very unpleasant, although everything was clean and tidy. Payment should be made on site, but no one was there. We called and the owner (?) arrived shortly thereafter. Before the trip no one was reachable.

I especially liked the breakfast, the great location, the flexible check‑in time and the calm atmosphere.

The surroundings: close to Friedberger See, easily reachable. At arrival there was no staff, no briefing on how to reach the room, a letter envelope on a counter in a room in the main building without staff I found by pure chance, the room had two broken bedside lamps and a socket that did not work: one should have classified the accommodation as a contractor’s lodging, not a hotel… then I would not have been so surprised. But there were no cooking facilities: not even a pot for boiling water in the room.
