“Beautiful Property, but Not Worth the Price”

The place sits in a great spot, and having a washer and dryer in the room was a nice perk. I appreciated how clean everything was, how the staff were attentive, and how stylish the décor looked; housekeeping was top‑not‑ch. However, the advertised “private bathroom” was misleading—each bedroom didn’t have its own, and the single shower could only serve up to six guests. The water pressure was weak and the temperature control was frustrating, offering only hot or cold water, so I couldn’t get a comfortable mix. The building’s single elevator caused long waits on the higher floors. All in all, the experience didn’t live up to the price, and I won’t stay at Don Rafa again.

The overall aesthetic was beautiful without sacrificing practicality. The only downside was that the room had no utensils even though it had a sink.

“Perfect Stay in Puerto Rico!”

Don Rafa was stunning! The breakfast area in the main lobby/bar was gorgeous. The room turned out to be much larger than I expected and very comfortable.

The hotel is a short drive from the airport and offers valet parking with very friendly attendants. It feels like a little jewel, and the staff are polite and accommodating. The bed and room were extremely comfortable and clean, and they stored our suitcases while we explored San Juan. We took Ubers to Old San Juan and were told the hotel is about 2 miles from Downtown San Juan. The only issue was that there was no nightstand on both sides of the bed, and although the breakfast was good, there wasn’t enough seating for all guests and the staff didn’t help with that; the room cleared out while I was eating, so it wasn’t a huge problem.

“Nice but hard to sleep if on ground floor.”

The room was very nice with good facilities, and the hotel reception was friendly; the complimentary breakfast was appreciated. The swimming pool area was well kept, and the views from the rooftop bar and pool were very nice. However, we were on the ground floor and the acoustics were terrible—everybody entering the hotel or in the bar seemed to be right outside our door, and the bartenders’ cocktail shaking was especially loud and annoying, making it impossible to sleep. I would strongly advise against booking a ground‑floor room!
