The hotel’s old‑style décor fits the cityscape nicely and is perfect for an opera outing, though the rooms are small and can get very hot in summer. The restaurant is friendly and the food good, but the rooms are cramped and the street location is a drawback.

We didn’t plan to have breakfast, yet we ended up in the breakfast restaurant and, for a fee, enjoyed a princely spread. The high ceilings, ample room space, and the courteous, helpful receptionist were also very pleasing.
