You can’t ask for more; you wake up and lie down while looking at the pyramids, take a swim in the pool with the pyramids in view, and feel truly privileged. The room is huge enough for four people, has a fridge, air conditioning, and a terrace.

The only bright spot is the pyramid view, after which everything else falls flat. The building looks rundown and desperately needs maintenance; dirty floors and a dusty main foyer give off a grimy vibe. Tea bags weren’t replaced and there was no coffee option. The pool photos mislead – you must walk past a bunch of tin cabins and six port stalls to reach the pool, and towels are missing. The open‑air seating areas on the roof are awkwardly sectioned off. Staff spoke very little English, making requests difficult. Paying $1300 AUD for a four‑day stay is massively overpriced. Breakfast was poor, especially when there’s a new restaurant on the roof – they should serve breakfast there. Don’t waste your money.

The view and location were positives. The pool was dirty, and when we reported a water‑pressure issue in the room, we were ignored. The pool bar set random prices, and when we asked for beach towels we waited almost an hour. The pool also had a strong sulphur smell, and the international breakfast was practically non‑existent.

The walls were decorated with clear depictions of Egyptian statues and ancient culture, yet the air‑conditioning barely worked in the rooms and didn’t function at all in the hotel.

I liked the pool and the staff, but on the first day the restaurant forced us to pay cash while on the second day we could use a card, and both times we dined there the bill contained errors that worked against us.
