Very disappointing experience – serious cleanliness concerns. Unfortunately, our stay at Albany Hotel on 17 October 2026 was extremely disappointing. When we entered our original room, there was a strong smell of mould, which made the room unpleasant and raised serious concerns about its cleanliness and condition. We therefore had to request a room change. However, the situation became even worse when we entered the replacement room at approximately 10 p.m. and discovered a bug crawling on the bed. This was extremely distressing and unacceptable. After already having to change rooms because of the mould smell, finding a bug on the bed made us lose confidence in the hotel’s hygiene standards. Guests should be able to expect clean, hygienic accommodation without having to worry about mould or bugs in their rooms. This experience significantly affected our stay, and we do not believe the accommodation provided met reasonable standards of cleanliness and hygiene. I have video evidence of the bug found on the bed and can provide it to support my complaint. I have requested a full refund of £83.71 and am seeking a fair resolution through the hotel and . Unfortunately, based on our experience, I would not recommend this hotel unless significant improvements are made to its cleanliness and room standards. I hope management takes this complaint seriously and addresses these issues to prevent other guests from experiencing the same problems.

“Enjoyed the stay - very welcoming.”

The location was great and the bed was comfortable, but the curtains were too thin and bright light leaked into the bedroom.

The place had a good location, was clean, and the bed was super comfy, though the TV and sofa setup felt a bit odd, which didn’t bother us since we didn’t use it; however, the check‑in time listed as 11am in the booking was actually at 10am.

The location was fantastic, just a short walk from the beach, and the room was very large and comfortable with a view of the parking where we parked our car; it would have been nice to have a mini fridge to keep things cold, and although the bathroom was very clean, there was no curtain on the window.
