Sunny Hotel Tbilisi

The staff were pleasant, the room was comfortable and clean. The bathroom needed a renovation – the flush was broken (the lid was on the side). The shower hose leaked along the pipe to the faucet behind the shower curtain, dripping around the toilet area.

“I regret my two-night stay.”

The spot is spot on, within walking distance of Avlabari Metro station and Tbilisi Old Town. However, a Ukrainian guest in my room took up most of the space, even hogging two of the three outlets on the extension cord. He sleeps before 9 pm (annoying when the room lamp is turned on) and wakes at 4 am, making noise. I told the receptionist, who said he’d talk to the guest, but nothing changed. I asked to switch rooms, but the receptionist said it wasn’t possible, even though a vacancy should have made it easy.

“Все понравилось, замените только старую мебель на новую”

The location is good, only about 10 minutes to the old town centre. The furniture is old, the bathroom is new, but everything else needs repair or replacement.

“Cheap and comfortable”

The location is right between Avlabari station (ideal for airport bus transfers) and the old town. Check‑in was scheduled for 2 pm, but I had to wait longer because the previous guest overstayed by 1.5 hours. Room 42, a triple on the top floor, had weak Wi‑Fi; the wall sockets didn’t work for my charger, so I left my phone charging overnight for an early flight with an alarm set for 5 am. I woke at 1 am and found the phone still off. I tried every socket, none worked. I went to reception and called the 24‑hour number; the person who answered seemed unconcerned and said, “that’s an issue we usually have in Georgia for European chargers.” I had stayed at other hotels in Tbilisi and Kazbegi without that problem. Eventually I found another charger at reception, but even after bringing a Georgian charger to my room the result was the same. I spent 50 minutes of my very short stay at the hotel waiting in reception at almost 2 am to charge my phone, when I could have slept in my room. UNACCEPTABLE. The bed was comfortable, the room was pretty large, and the price was decent. There is a restaurant/coffee shop next door, and the lady serving was very nice and friendly.

At the last minute I was told the reservation had to be cancelled because the toilet facilities wouldn’t work. They said they couldn’t cancel it themselves, so I had to do it, but I couldn’t do that without paying cancellation fees. I reported this.
