Hotel Alba

The breakfast was excellent, the staff were kind and the kitchen superb, but it takes a long time for hot water to start in the shower.

First, I must say that historical reviews are objective; I especially appreciate the staff’s willingness. The historic cottage has been renovated, but the 2‑bedroom room is fairly small, the floor creaked when walking, the bathroom was large enough, but a step in the bathroom annoyed me. I didn’t expect a hair dryer there, and there wasn’t one. Breakfast could have been more varied; there was no hot breakfast (scrambled eggs, sausages or bacon), the bread selection was sparse. Ventilation required opening the window; the air was stuffy.

Breakfast was only cold, but the selection was fine. The kitchen was superb, and the hotel’s location is great for walking tours.

The place is great, parking right next to the hotel. The staff were very friendly, especially the lady. I ended up extending my stay by an extra day, which was fine. The food was absolutely excellent, both the breakfast included in the price and the dinner. The rooms are a bit plain, but the price/quality ratio is superb. I would definitely stay again in Alba. The only complaint is that the silicone in the shower has worn out; it needs to be replaced, but it’s a minor issue.
