“Do Litomyšle se vrátím.”

The location of the guesthouse and especially the town of Litomyšl were impressive. The exhibition in Smetana's birthplace was very moving and striking. The castle is gorgeous, and the castle theatre is very interesting. We were disappointed by the evening church tour; we expected light effects and projections on the church walls, as advertised.

The staff were friendly and I learned that the owner hasn’t owned this property for long. I appreciate that the bathroom has everything you’d find in better hotels, the bed is very comfortable, and the living‑kitchen area is well equipped. The only minus is the apartment with street‑facing windows, which is noisy at night and forces you to choose between air and silence. The windows seal perfectly, and on cooler days you can ventilate through the kitchen comfortably. A great air‑conditioner and a sponge for washing dishes in the bathroom would be nice. Instead of a full kitchen, there’s simply the option to heat food in a microwave and a kettle that boils quickly. That was enough for us.

Breakfast was great, though it would have been nice to have fresh rolls. The room lacked air conditioning.
