“The Omar Khayyam is a misnomer”

The location was fine. If you’re a traveler hoping to experience a “Fawlty Towers” vibe in Tangier, you’ve found it. Wi‑fi worked only when you left the room, went into the hall, or moved to another part of the hotel. We switched rooms to one with a shower curtain, partial Wi‑fi, a mouldy shower curtain, fittings that didn’t fit, and more issues. I asked for a new sheet because the current one had a hole; they gave me a new sheet but placed the one with the hole as the bottom sheet. We stayed to live our own Fawlty Towers.

The hotel sits in a great spot, close to everything and easy to get around. The staff were kind, humble, and helpful throughout. Wi‑Fi was reliable and the air conditioning worked well. The room had a noticeable humidity smell, and the pillowcases and bedsheets carried an unpleasant odor that dampened comfort. Breakfast was decent with a fair selection, yet we found a small cockroach under the bread, raising hygiene concerns. Overall, the staff and facilities had merits, but the room and breakfast area need better cleanliness and freshness.

The location is spot‑on, but the place gets a bit noisy, and the breakfast is very basic—extra coffee or other items cost extra.
