The location, verandah and garden were lovely. The roses had a lovely scent! There was very little room in the bedroom to move around the bed. The lounge chairs were uncomfortable. Water from the shower leaked across the floor.

“I left medication in the fridge. My host rang to alert me and thoughtfully delivered it to me later”

I really appreciated the host couple giving a GF breakfast. The accommodation was spacious, had off‑street parking and was furnished to match the vintage charm of the handsome house. The weather stayed cold, so I could have used a quilt or extra blankets.

Great location. The host(s) were available and appropriately communicative. The bed was very comfortable and the extra bedding was needed because it was mid‑winter and cold – an extra comforter and blanket. The photos were accurate. Very clean – rooms, bedding and kitchen equipment were all tidy. The décor had a nostalgic feel, which was unexpected and liked. The west‑facing veranda made the lounge and entrance sunny in the afternoon. I stayed from mid‑July 2026 for 3 nights. A large shower box would be better than the current open shower, because the water isn’t contained by the curtain or by the floor’s slope toward the drain, so the bathroom floor, as the host warned, gets wet easily. I had to use the flannel provided to wipe the floor each time I showered. The unit was cold in winter even though it was sunny; in the shade it was cold and mornings and evenings were chilly. A heat pump would help. The electric heaters barely warmed the unit. There was no heated towel rail, so towels stayed damp. I understand that improvements might raise the price.
