The room was clean, and there was a TV, but it couldn’t stream any external platforms—Netflix was out of reach, which felt a bit dull. Room 701 had a strange layout: the makeup area was inconvenient, the bathroom mirror was on the right side of the sink rather than facing forward, and the overall design felt odd. The key card was also a hassle; most rooms come with two cards, but here the card and key were attached together, making it clunky to carry. Breakfast was served very early, disappearing by 9 am, so I couldn’t enjoy it if I woke up before then.

The front desk staff were very friendly and even handed out a map of local homemade food spots, showing genuine care. The water pressure in the room was strong, and the toiletries were good. Nearby, there’s a night market and a Hualian supermarket, plus plenty of parking—great for drivers. The room was spacious with multiple hangers, a cold fridge, and the TV picture was clear. On the downside, the high water pressure caused the whole bathroom to get wet, and there were no grab bars next to the bathtub, making it risky to enter or exit the tub. Some floors were warped; walking over them would constantly trip you, and I noticed other rooms had even worse floor warping, suggesting the hotel hasn’t addressed the issue. The bath towel had a large dust‑fleck that really hurt the look. The hotel sits opposite a temple, so even though I stayed on the seventh floor, the noise from the temple was unavoidable—at night it was quiet, but in the morning it was very loud. The room used a traditional key lock but only gave one key, and there was no deadbolt or safety lock, so anyone with a key could enter at any time, which felt unsafe. Even though Wi‑Fi was offered, it didn’t work in the room or the restaurant.
