“A great overnight stay we will use in future on our commutes to UK”
Great value. Perfect start to the day. The buffet breakfast was plentiful. The pool area was ideal for relaxing after a day’s driving

Breakfast was very good. Dinner was very disappointing.

The setting, the castle, the décor, the calm. The sofa has a flaw in the seating while everything else is good, no blinds or curtains on the living‑room window at the staircase landing, in the family room it creaks a lot and you hear people moving in their bed.

The spot is great, the staff are friendly and everything feels very calm. The food was decent and served well, and we had a good time overall. A minor improvement would be to have coffee available at breakfast without having to ask someone in the kitchen; it’s a fixed part of the service and should be ready for guests. Nothing serious, and it definitely won’t stop us from coming back.

The hotel is quiet and the rooms are spacious. The breakfast buffet was very basic and disappointing for the price. The staff were overwhelmed, making us wait for check‑in, check‑out, and even for coffee in the morning. The worst part was the billing: they tried to charge the stay‑taxes again. I showed my Booking invoice that already included those taxes, yet the receptionist insisted I hadn’t paid them and claimed they would charge my card anyway. Her attitude was dishonest, obtuse, and unnecessarily aggressive, which I found unacceptable. I had to involve Booking to resolve the issue (I hadn’t paid the taxes, but due to the threats I had no choice). This practice seems widespread and petty. They also don’t answer the phone and use an AI to filter calls, which is ridiculous for a business.
