“Schade”

Very nice house in a good location. Pretty room with a nice view. The typical warm English Breakfast was good and there was a selection. The “cold buffet” offered little. On request we received porridge, honey, and plain yoghurt. I don’t like having to ask for basics. The beds were probably new, but too soft. They also didn’t feel truly new, as some spots felt like a feather was passing through. What really bothered me were the black and grey spots in the drain of the shower door. I found it disgusting. On request we were told that rooms are only cleaned when guests change. Okay, that can be done, but then I should also find a clean bathroom. Given the size of the bathroom, it should have been cleaned in between an eight‑night stay without being asked. I totally agree that daily housekeeping isn’t necessary, but having none or only on request over eight days is not good. In vacation I want to relax, not worry about cleaning my room. Other reviews tell me that Sarah and Paul assure everything is perfect and that the guest is at fault for not saying anything. As said, there are things that shouldn’t have to be mentioned. That includes, in particular, a hygienically clean bathroom.

“Exellent.”

The breakfast was excellent and the staff were amazing; I’m already looking forward to coming back next year. The hospitality was amazing, and the husband and wife were the friendliest people, making our holiday memorable.

-Die Lage -Die Freundlichkeit und Erreichbarkeit der Besitzer. Bei Mängeln waren sie bemüht. -Genügend Parkmöglichkeiten. Die Sauberkeit und die Reinigung der Zimmer ließen zu wünschen übrig: Tee-/Kaffeerückstände (Flecken) auf dem Tisch. Das WC und die anderen sanitäre Anlagen waren nur rudimentär gereinigt. Der Siphong der Dusche war extrem mit Haaren verstopft und stank und wurde erst nach zweimaligem Bitten gereinigt. Während der 7 Nächte, wurde das Zimmer/Bad nie gereinigt bzw. „betreten“; uns sagte man, das sei seit Covid so. Mülleimer sollte man, wenn sie voll waren, vors Zimmer stellen, daß der Müll entsorgt werden konnte. Housekeeping sieht anders aus! Die Handtücher fühlten sich eher wie Küchenhandtücher an, so wenig Flor hatten sie. Die Matratzen waren weich und durchgelegen, so daß man vereinzelt Federn spüren konnte. Das Frühstück war gut (was kann man beim English Breakfast schon falsch machen?!), aber sehr übersichtlich in der Auswahl. Außer Fruchtjoghurt und 3 Sorten Cereals war nichts auf dem „Buffet“, wie wir es von anderen B&B kennen, vorzufinden. Auf Nachfragen wurde uns Porridge und Naturjoghurt gereicht

“The perfect stay, great location, and fab hosts.”

Paul & Sarah are wonderful hosts who made us feel at home right away; the room was beautiful with everything we needed and the breakfast was exceptional—thank you. Nothing at all; it was a lovely experience for us.

“Dreadful room so we could not stay.”

I can’t give a score because I didn’t stay. The room I was assigned was a cellar room that was damp – you could smell the dampness, there was a working dehumidifier, and the half‑windows faced the parking lot. Parking in reverse was impossible because exhaust fumes would spill into the room, making it a health hazard, so I didn’t stay.
