We booked this place thinking it was in Hakone, but it turned out to be a pleasant surprise; the suite itself was spacious, clean, and more comfortable than we had imagined, and the food was fantastic. The staff were incredibly helpful, going out of their way to assist us. After staying here, we took a 25‑minute taxi ride to the lake in Hakone, which gave us time to explore a charming small town we hadn’t expected to find.

I was thrilled by the private onsen that flowed freely in my room, and the option to book a private sauna and onsen at the accommodation was a bonus. The room itself was spacious, and I appreciated the traditional ryokan clothing. The Japanese breakfast was a delight, and the staff happily catered to my vegetarian preferences. Everyone was friendly, and I’d definitely return. I also enjoyed spotting Japanese winter monkeys just outside the property. The only drawback was the parking: it’s on steep hills, slippery when wet, but there’s plenty of space.

The rooms are very beautiful, large, and roomy. Every room has a hot bath. The snack room is wonderful, with plenty of drinks and food. Unfortunately, no staff speak a language other than Japanese, so communication is a struggle.

The free drinks and food were a pleasant surprise. It was a bit too quiet in that part of town.
