Heated rooms provide towels and linen; some feature private bathrooms with bath or shower, others share facilities. A communal lounge, shared dining area, and kitchen foster social interaction, while the nearby Talisker Distillery offers a 27 km day trip.

The place was clean, located well, the staff were friendly, the kitchen was good, the dining area was great, and the views were nice. Everything was great.

The hostel was very conveniently located, had a kitchen and laundry on site, and the staff were friendly. Paid parking was right across. The kitchen featured several sinks, stoves, two fridges, and a lot of free staff from prior tenants. We enjoyed our stay there. Shampoo was not provided, so we had to buy it for 1 GBP; we brought our own, but it was a surprise.

The location is definitely a strong point, making it very convenient to visit Portree. The receptionist was genuinely kind, helpful, and welcoming. Unfortunately, the room left us a bit disappointed. In the bathroom we spotted dampness issues and a broken window that wouldn’t close properly. The sheets didn’t feel clean either—they lacked a fresh scent and seemed somewhat dirty to us. Another downside was the paid parking; given our stay, we would have preferred it to be included. Overall, the location and staff were very good, but the room needs more maintenance and better cleanliness.
