Joe and Jim are the best hosts you could hope for; they go out of their way to make everyone’s stay special, even driving me into town and to the station, and the breakfast and homemade donuts are to die for! The only downside was a couple who were loud and rude, both to the hosts and by disturbing other guests in the middle of the night, despite Joe & Jim doing their best for them as well.

This place is SPECIAL! The 1880’s house is decorated spectacularly, no detail has been overlooked. The grounds are similarly spectacular. There is something beautiful or unique to see everywhere the eyes roam. We hiked from the property to Beacon and it was a lovely walk, not too strenuous. What an amazing experience. I want to go back again and again and again! Jim and Joe are hands down my favorite hosts of all times! Fresh, homemade pastries, a super special room, attentiveness, and great recommendations made our hosts top notch. I can’t wait to come back

Why stay in a corporate hotel or motel when you can enjoy true hospitality in a unique, artistic, and natural getaway? Jim, our host, offered kind and personal attention along with very delicious homemade pastries and frittatas. The Hermitage is comfortable and set in a wooded area with beautiful gardens. It’s convenient to downtown Beacon with its great restaurants, yet quiet and set apart in the forest. We left feeling rested and grateful for being hosted generously. The road is a bit busy, but it offers easy access to Beacon.

The hermitage is a very cute and fun inn with a beautiful and expansive garden / grounds to roam. We also really enjoyed being walking distance to a hiking trail and a short drive into Beacon. And the host, Joe, was very friendly and welcoming

The breakfast was delicious—the frittatas, pastries, and tamales were out of this world. The paintings are beautiful, and the garden was my favorite part of the whole place.
