We were just passing through and we’ll stay again on 31.10; the person in charge kept contacting us via WhatsApp whenever something came up, so staying in touch was easy, and questions were answered right away. The info about the code didn’t work at first but was fixed quickly, the WIFI didn’t work, and there was a general weather‑related problem.

The spot was great for us because we needed the station to head to Taormina (Greek Theatre, worth seeing) and then Palermo; snacks and coffee were free in the lobby, the rooms were a quiet refuge in a busy city, and breakfast was a small but fine café downstairs. Lots of cafés and restaurants were close by. We arrived by ferry, had trouble getting around at first (a taxi asked for 25 € for a 1–2 mile ride), but my son finally got an “Uber” for 12 €. The entrance is a big wooden door on a main street with a small plaque and a phone number; a gentleman came within 5–10 minutes and we were sorted.

It was good, but there was no internet in our room, which made my wife very unhappy; she spent a lot of time in the break room and hallway outside our room. Free water and snacks were available, and the place was clean.
