“Like a 2nd home away from home.”

This place was ideal for all the day trips we wanted to make, from the shrines of Togakushi to the drives to the lakes and waterfalls, and the gondola up from Hakuba to Happa One – we were right in the middle of it all. The host was very kind and helpful, bringing fresh towels, helping us move some trash, and even offering nice fresh fruit one day. The house sits next to a small plantation and very close to an excellent bakery that makes little cakes. The tiny neighborhood of a couple of houses is very quiet. The house had everything we needed, more than enough pots, pans, sharp knives, etc. There were heaters and plenty of blankets in case the night got cold. The décor might look a bit dated, but the place is relaxed and well equipped, like a private second home. The mattresses on the floor were a bit well used, but otherwise there were no complaints.

“Amazing and peaceful”

The palace feels incredibly tranquil, tucked away in a remote mountain village, and its design is distinct, creating a remarkable vibe. The kitchen is spacious and stocked with everything you could possibly need. On the downside, the area around the property is a bit hard to navigate when it comes to finding restaurants, but the generous kitchen more than compensates for that.
