“Self-service hotel”
When I arrived, nobody was there. I had received an email asking for my arrival time; I replied with an hour estimate inside the advertised window, and they said it might not be possible but didn’t clarify what would be acceptable. I didn’t get the email while traveling. The place was locked and no one answered the phone, as if it were closed permanently. Two men eventually appeared and let us in, but they told us they weren’t hotel staff, just working on the property. One said the owner had gone to the store and would return later; later we were told the owner was ill and would be there in the morning. After gaining access, we found one room already occupied. I have photos: an unmade bed, a drink and dirty glass on the table, used towels on the floor by the shower—disgraceful! The hotel security is poor and could leave guests at risk; I can prove it. I was able to access three other rooms and found a clean one to use instead of the dirty, previously occupied room. We had rooms 4, 7, and 8; 7 was terrible. We chose room 9, but someone else later claimed it. We looked at 6, it was also dirty and unprepared. We moved into #5, and were only allowed there after I found a German‑speaking relative who spoke to someone representing the owner. If we could so easily access these rooms, someone else could too, which isn’t a safe feeling a guest should expect. There was no service for the two nights we stayed. Over the 3 days and 2 nights, we never saw or talked to a hotel employee. No tea or coffee service. I had never heard of a “self‑service” hotel, nor would I agree to stay in one.
