The location is fine. I just don’t like that there’s no receptionist at night and you have to wait until 7 am when they arrive; if you have a flight or need to leave early, no one is there to receive you or check the TV controls. Also, the climate issue is that you sign a voucher for both controls and you must wait for someone to arrive.

The location is undeniably great, and we could walk everywhere with ease; there are plenty of dining options nearby. The staff were friendly, from the ladies and the young man at reception to the café attendants. However, there are signs about water conservation, yet the shower water takes too long to heat, wasting a lot of water during the wait. The sink in room 15 leaks when you turn on the taps, soaking the everyday items we had placed there. While staying, we booked a tour at reception; we were told that only the transport and guide fees were covered, and entrance tickets were extra. Unfortunately, when we reached Hierve el Agua, the guide charged us $100 more than everyone else without any explanation, even though a sign in the venue stated the entry cost was $50. I wrote to the hotel to point this out, and the only response was that this is the price they charge tours for bringing people, regardless of the entrance fee we pay, which made no sense. It became a very uncomfortable situation because we were charged extra money for no reason, and it was done in front of everyone; no explanation was given. I think the hotel should ensure it provides complete information or at least include such costs in the total price, otherwise it feels like a scam.
