Nothing positive. I communicated the day before our arrival and received no response. I called four times at the property's front door and got no answer. We couldn't stay because there was no communication from the property owner. His father finally answered the door. The moment we walked in, the room hadn't been cleaned; all the bed linen was filthy, with stains on the sheets.

The host welcomed us warmly and even offered breakfast the following morning; the only inconvenience was that the place sits 3km from Carrick on Shannon, but a local taxi—numbers supplied by the host—made the trip simple.
