The Columbia Hotel is an independent, family-run accommodation in London, situated within a 5-minute walk of Lancaster Gate Tube station. It offers stunning views of Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens. Each room features a flat-screen TV, tea/coffee making facilities, and a private bathroom with bath and shower. The hotel provides 24-hour front desk service, free WiFi, and a bar serving food and drinks.

The location is great, close to the tube and a park, and the room is a good size. But the room was hot and stuffy without air conditioning, the bedding felt too warm, the window opened only a tiny bit and was covered by a safety barrier I've never seen elsewhere. Breakfast was basic, no hot food, not even eggs – poor value. We paid over £700 for three nights and expected better. The corridors and room décor are very dated, giving the feel of an old hospital. The staff were uninterested. I won’t stay here again.

I stayed near Hyde Park and close to Oxford, and the place was clean. The windows were too high, so I couldn’t see the street, and the rooms felt cramped.

The location is exceptional, right across from Hyde Park and close to Paddington station, Lancaster Gate tube stop, and Leinster Terrace bus stop. The room was spacious with high ceilings and a balcony overlooking Hyde Park, though you couldn’t step out onto it. The buffet breakfast offered a wide variety. Reception and breakfast staff were attentive at all times. We chose the hotel mainly for its location and the great deal we found (400€ for 4 nights with breakfast for 4 people from 8 to 12 October 2026). The hotel has a lot of charm. The room is not suitable for dust‑allergic guests because the hotel’s carpet is very old. The hotel would need a renovation of the bathroom and removal of the carpet.

It was our second time at this hotel and we were again very satisfied. The location is fantastic, right next to the metro and buses stop nearby. We were allowed to park our car there for a fee. The bed was good. The room feels a bit dated, but it’s clean and tidy. The price is also reasonable… We’ll definitely come back.
