We stayed in the family room because it was the only one left, and we’re happy we did because the large windows overlooked the river, a lovely view. The pub food was good with large portions. It would have been nice to have some fruit or yogurt for breakfast.

The staff were efficient at check‑in even though it was very busy. The room was comfortable, clean and quiet. Breakfast was good; I didn’t get to try the dinner menu because I was only there for one night after a wedding at a nearby venue. I had hoped to check in earlier than planned but couldn’t find parking because the car park serves two pubs and it was Sunday lunch time, so it was very busy. Not a major problem, as I was attending a wedding at a nearby venue and could come back later to find a space and check in at my originally planned time. This shows how popular the place is, so if you’re planning on visiting just be aware.

Our third visit was lovely as always—especially the family room, the location, and the food.

The staff and location were good, breakfast included with the room was excellent, and the evening meal bought before the stay was also very good; only a slight touch of paint was needed in some parts of the venue.
