We stayed twice at the Plough, once heading south and once north; the room was great, the location off the M6 was handy, dinner and breakfast were excellent, the place is dog friendly, and the staff were very welcoming.

I loved absolutely everything – the decor is stunning, the room feels like a top London hotel such as the Dorchester, with top‑style cushions, curtains, and free‑standing baths complete with bath salts; the dog‑friendly policy means I’m not stuck in a smelly room because of my dog’s hair, and the food and cocktails are lovely while the staff are truly nice. It feels like a gorgeous family house, so I’d 100000% stay again. The only downside was that the room was above the kitchen and the oven timer kept going off the second morning, disturbing my sleep, but I didn’t mind that much because I loved the place so much.
