It was great that Martien ran breakfast himself on Saturday morning; a friendly, pleasant man and tasty breakfast. The room was just a little too small, but it worked for us.

The design and comfort, clean rooms and spaces, and breakfast were all good. I had trouble with booking: the company didn’t send me the right info, so I had to get it from another guest, and calling was a bit chaotic. I missed a welcome note about the pension; I knew it was a self‑catering pension.

The self‑check‑in with a code works fine and you can grab your key right away. The beds are nice and the room stays quiet at night even though it’s on the road. Breakfast is decent but nothing special. The shower was a pain – it took a long time to heat up and then it wouldn’t stay on the sauna setting. The room’s finish isn’t great: a pendant lamp with broken pears, peeling wallpaper, and paint peeling off the skirting boards. Martien was there to say good morning, but otherwise didn’t do much.
