“Delightful quiet place to stay in the bustle of Kinosakionsen”

Although it’s called a guesthouse, it feels more like a traditional Japanese inn. As you enter, you’re greeted by geta and a step. The room comes with a yukata and obi, plus a covered basket for the onsen towel and your personal items. I stayed in the dormitory, sharing it with only one other woman who was at the opposite end of the three‑sectioned room. We each had our own futon, cover, pillow, a tray for a personal lamp, and space in a closet to hang clothes. There’s also a lockable small storage in a cabinet. The dorm can hold up to 9 or 12 people, I believe. March and October seem to be good months to visit as it’s not crowded. A kitchen area with a refrigerator, cookware, utensils, dishes, etc. is available downstairs. The shower is next to the kitchen, which may seem odd, but it’s still very private. The garden outside is amazing—very inviting and beautiful. Walking back from the onsens in geta, the cobblestones make a delightful sound. Oddity to note: there’s a SUPER old massage chair that still works! I tried it and it’s a bit rough, but it works! For JPY10 it’s worth a try! The only downside is the narrow stairs up—so don’t bring large suitcases or heavy stuff! Wear socks with the geta as they will rub between your toes after a while.

A lovely house that was very clean and nicely decorated. The rooms were spacious and the hosts were very helpful when I broke my phone charger. I highly recommend it!
