Margaret & Stephen are perfect hosts, full of character, making the stay memorable. The conservatory is the best breakfast spot, especially with Stephen’s freshly picked garden flowers. Breakfast was excellent, and my husband said the coffee was the best he’d had in all of Scotland. Stephen’s books line the house; I just wish I could have lingered to read more of the interesting titles. The bedrooms are nicely decorated with great artwork, even in the bathrooms. I wholeheartedly recommend Clachan Gardens. No complaints.

Our stay was excellent: rooms were very clean, the breakfast was outstanding and delicious, and the hosts were extremely friendly, making us feel comfortable immediately. The great location is perfect for exploring nature and sights.

“A real treat!”

Wow! What a fabulous property in a fabulous location. Stephen and Margaret go the extra mile for comfort. There’s a separate guest sitting room that actually serves as a library. We ordered an evening meal that was all homemade, including homemade ice cream, and it was delicious, as was breakfast. There’s ‘proper coffee’ and homemade granola, lots of preserves and many other choices. I think if you ask, Stephen and Margaret will provide it. The views are great. The four‑poster bed is fabulous and super comfy. The setting is very peaceful. Oh, and the flowers! Flowers everywhere, all from the garden and fragrant. I loved them. Nothing to dislike.

“Truly wonderful and such interesting hosts with accommodation in their equally interesting home”

Amazing dining room with a fantastic view. The hosts are welcoming and made us feel at home. Breakfast was wonderful with a superb display of fresh cut flowers on the table and many home‑grown ingredients. There was nothing we didn’t like; it was all lovely.
