“Never again”
I liked the spot near the metro station, but the room was tiny, freezing, and not cleaned well; insects were in it, the bed was awful with worn sheets and an old pillow.

Hotel Marco Polo, a budget-friendly boutique in Hamburg, sits two minutes from Wandsbeker Chaussee’s shopping and dining, and a short walk to the port, Alster lake, and Rathaus. The newly renovated villa hosts tranquil, en‑suite rooms and a garden with loungers. A 100‑meter walk reaches U‑Bahn, S‑Bahn, and a major bus terminal.

Nothing good; everything was bad. The room didn’t match the ad, the mattress was terrible, the bath was awful—just no good at all.

The location is good, but it feels a bit old.

The hotel is close to the U- and S-Bahn as well as the market in Wandsbek, and it was clean with very friendly staff. However, I wondered why it’s called a hotel instead of a pension, since there’s no lift and the stairs are worn out like the rest of the furnishings (for example, a very wobbly wardrobe). Slippery toilet seats and a very high shower entrance without a grab bar are not helpful; it’s neither senior‑friendly nor accessible for people with disabilities. The advertised breakfast times also didn’t match up.

The location was good, but the place had a stale smell, was very worn out and dirty. The bed frame was filthy, the sofa was grimy and covered with a wool blanket.
