“A interesting slice of life.”

We chose this unique property because of its Edgar Allen Poe vibe and secure parking, and we liked the breakfast. However, the location seemed good on the map, but on arrival it changed: the streets around the hotel were less desirable, making it feel unsafe to walk to the town center (10 minutes). Sleazy characters and empty storefronts added to the unease. We left our windows open at night and heard a lot of urban noise until about 2 am. Living in a large city, I’m used to this environment, but on vacation it’s not where I want to be.

“Beautiful property with fabulous hosts close to the city centre.”

This place is truly wonderful, beautifully decorated, comfortable, and the hosts are fabulous. It’s close to the old city centre and only a 5‑minute walk from the main train station. The rooms are thoughtfully decorated and the bed is incredibly comfortable. Each room has a coffee pod machine and kettle. There’s a lovely lounge and dining area for guests. Breakfast was excellent, with homemade cakes, fruit salad, chia pudding, yoghurt, and a variety of breads, pastries, and eggs cooked in many ways. Facilities include secure car parking in the forecourt, a spa room, and access to a washing machine and dryer. The hosts are the star, offering helpful and informative recommendations for local restaurants and sights. We’d definitely stay again! The only downside: our room was at the front of the building, so we heard noise from the garbage truck emptying the big underground bins on the street each morning. If you’re a light sleeper, ask for a room at the rear.
