We enjoyed staying at the Railroad Inn; the room was large enough for several guests. Overall, the Inn felt nice and we were pleased with the downstairs bedroom and bathroom. The bunk in the second bedroom worked fine for young adults or kids. I’d recommend clarifying that the sofa isn’t a sleeper, since the listing said it was a sofa bed, bunk beds, and a full‑size bed in that room. The couch was just a couch, and the cushions were filthy—crackers, coins, and stains were everywhere, showing it hadn’t been cleaned in a while. Because of the lack of a sofa sleeper, we had to put an older adult on the top bunk and another on the bottom. We’d have given up the room downstairs, but two older men didn’t want to share a bed. We clearly misread the sleeping setup, so the description should be clearer. We went to the continental breakfast just before 7 am, but there were no spoons for the cereal options. We told guest service about it when we arrived. Overall, the Inn was very nice and we liked the space in the queen suite—two separate sleeping areas, a loft, two bathrooms, etc. We’d definitely stay again when we’re in the area.

“I will not be coming back anytime soon.”

The location was good, the breakfast was fine, the staff was great, and the outside porch was great. However, our room was freezing and had a musty smell, the windows were filthy, the room was dark, the rugs were dark, and the chairs felt unclean, yellowed, and just plain dirty. The room was at the end of the corridor and the neighboring room was loud. The rooms are dark. Outside is another story.
