“Thank You, wonderful few days away.”

Everyone was friendly and helpful. The venue was close to everything I wanted to see and do, and the staff were delightful. The food was delicious, both the breakfasts and the evening meal I had. Everyone in the dining room praised the chef and staff. As a solo female traveler, I highly recommend this “home from home.” I had no issues; on arrival I was offered a free upgrade because they worried the small room I booked might not meet my needs. I declined, had no problems with the room, and was impressed by how eager they were to make my stay comfortable.

Breakfast was good. The bar closed at 7 pm, which was very poor for a hotel.

“Don’t book the small room”

I never actually stayed; I left immediately and got a refund, but the room felt so cramped I couldn't even stay in it.

No decent window in the room. The entry door was dangerous, with a large step down into the room and no warning. The furnishings were tired.

“Characterful and unique.”

Bishopgate had a lot of character and the location was spot‑on, with staff who were very friendly and helpful. The hotel’s charm is unique, but each room has its own quirks; mine had low beams that caused several head bumps, so don’t expect a modern, clean‑lined bedroom. My room definitely had character, with dusky pink sanitary ware and wash basin taps that look like they belong to another era, but that’s part of its charm! You can’t find a hotel that still offers linen tablecloths, table service, and breakfast cooked to order. I’d definitely stay again. The only downside was that the low beams weren’t warned about, which isn’t ideal for someone who’s 6 feet tall.
