The hotel sits nicely halfway between the station and the castle, in a quiet temple area with some abandoned businesses and a handful of independent shops and cafés. The traditional family house, carefully renovated by owner‑manager Aoyama‑san, serves excellent coffee and he takes the time to chat over breakfast. The only downside is that the space is relatively small, the stairs are steep, and the walls are thin.

Small but cozy, the hosts were very welcoming, and it sits between the train station and the castle.

The location is good, and even during the long holiday I was able to stay cheaply, which was a relief. I only needed to sleep, so the facilities were more than enough.
