Nice place, good value for money, good location for what I wanted, and clean. It’s a pub, so there’s some noise but that was fine. The only odd thing was the bed size: the width was normal, but the length seemed only about 6 ft, 5–10 cm short for me (I’m 5 ft 10). If your head is right up by the headboard, your feet might overhang. Not a deal‑breaker, but if you’re tall it could feel a bit uncomfortable; room 9 might have been better.

The staff were very helpful and friendly, especially the lad who checked me in and carried my heavy luggage up to my room. The room was clean and comfortable, with an ensuite bathroom. My window was above the bar’s outside area, so I could hear people from the bar—expected for a pub, and a set of ear plugs solved it.
