“It did the job as a stopover in the national park and for £65 pn with breakfast I’m not expecting the ritz but a hoover,”

The location is great for hikes, quiet and secluded, and the night is very peaceful for sleeping. The door kept slamming until about 9 pm, the shower had a weak flow but was warm, and I’m not sure if the duvet cover and pillowcases had been washed; the bath wasn’t dry when I arrived.

“Pleased to get a last minute room”

I slept comfortably in the quiet night, and the bedside lamps are dimmer and motion‑sensitive, so I never struggled to find the switch. The scenery and walking areas everywhere are worth the “exciting” drive, but you have to remember that if the heating oil tanker can get through, so can your car—just not at the same time! I was tired and forgot that the front doorbell is on the side window for late arrivals.

“Great and atmospheric place,great photos and maps,books about the area.”

The meal was superb, the host was lovely, and the old‑school pub and hotel were fine. I loved it. No complaints come to mind; I enjoyed my stay and will return. Maybe there’s a Bible in the drawer, eh?
