The room was spacious and the breakfast varied, but the staff didn’t speak Spanish, the reception door was closed and wouldn’t open even when the bell was rung, the room had only one small wardrobe, and there was an electrical fault with the light.

The hotel’s location was fantastic because I was attending a two‑day event at Excel, literally on the doorstep, so I highly recommend it for anyone going to events at Excel.

The breakfasts were very good and traditional, the proximity to the DLR and the main line train stops was a plus, the restaurant offered lovely views of the old, historic quays, and the staff were very friendly.
