Located on Eastbourne's seafront, Citrus Hotel Eastbourne by Compass Hospitality offers contemporary accommodation within 400 metres of Eastbourne town centre, with some rooms featuring sea views. Modern rooms include flat-screen TVs, private bathrooms with hairdryers, and complimentary Wi-Fi. The hotel is opposite Western Lawns, a 15-minute walk from Eastbourne Rail Station, and a 10-minute walk from Eastbourne Pier.

The room was spacious with a great view, and the staff were extremely helpful and pleasant, but there was no lift and the parking permits ran out on our second day.

The room and bathroom were clean, and the beds were well made; we liked the variety of breakfast options. We had to use the main light because there were no bedside lamps, and the bathroom door had roller paint stains. Although there was a breakfast area, they didn’t offer any evening meals, so that space could easily serve as a dining area for dinner.

The room was spacious, impeccably clean, and the reception team—especially the bearded guy—were friendly and welcoming. There was nothing to complain about at all.

The location is superb, right on the sea and close to the city center. The room comes with a kettle, tea, coffee, and milk sachets, plus comfortable beds. Even though the standard is average, the three‑night stay was great. However, the rooms aren’t as luxurious as the photos suggest, the bathroom is very ordinary, and it took a long time for the water to heat up before the shower was warm. There’s no dryer in the bathroom, and the only power outlet in the room is in a very inconvenient spot.
