No131 The Promenade, located in Cheltenham, features two restaurants, a gin bar, and a cocktail bar, with free WiFi access. The hotel offers rooms with flat-screen TVs, minibars, and en-suite bathrooms. YOKU provides a Tokyo-inspired Japanese dining experience. The hotel is close to Montpellier Gardens, Approach Golf Course, and Cheltenham Spa Railway Station, with lively terraces and bars open until late.

Everything was superb; our go‑to place in Cheltenham with fabulously appointed rooms and en suites, excellent comfort and quality; food was good, staff pleasant and helpful; the outdoor bar areas and beautiful indoor spaces were great, and I’m curious what will happen now that the tented marquees are gone; the location is perfect for exploring the Montpellier district and walking into the city centre.

The location and choice of bars were good, but I struggled with suitcases because there are many stairs to reach the room; the first room was in the basement, extremely dark, with windows facing a wall, and the courtyard restaurant tables were moved to the ground floor the next day, which had a much better view over the front.

I didn’t book breakfast because we already knew the hotel and its location, but I was disappointed that breakfast was not included.
