Sara turned out to be the most gracious host I’ve ever met!

Fantastic location, right in the heart of the city.

Convenient location, good mattress, but the price/quality for the room itself, the external bathroom down past all the other guests; construction work before 9 in the morning literally through our wall—without warning and without any apologies; and poor (expensive for us) advice on parking—charging this much per night sets very different expectations.

I was locked out with no instructions or a door open to get in after 19 hours of travel from the US with two stops, pouring rain, and he was crying over suitcases; no password or person to let me in. I finally managed to get inside the front door after 45 min standing in the rain exhausted, my phone was from travel, and I waited in a dark hallway of the apartment building, no one knew where this first house was. Finally, someone helped after another 20 min on the ground floor, maybe the second floor, I took the elevator, rang, and became a cleaning crew, so I had no idea where my room was and spoke no English or the other languages I speak. I couldn’t leave at 2 pm to get down to the day in town and meet friends because I was trapped in the room and couldn’t be locked out again. I still had no passkey or code, and the instructions they sent had no code or car access, which made no sense to me. I was trapped in the room with no food or fork for 36 hours since traveling. The owners yelled at me three times on the phone and then took me to their guest house to yell at me more and told me to shut up. This was the most abusive, horrid experience I’ve had in a lifetime of international travel. I demand a full refund. I was also trapped on a zero floor when I tried to leave to get to the train, which was terrifying. The owner yelled at me third time, and I had a problem with her elevator! I was just trying to go down the flight with heavy back and a herniated disk in my back; I asked for help to go down stairs with suitcases and she yelled at me again and wouldn’t help me get out.
