The thermal spa lies a 7‑minute walk away; Canicada Lake and Peneda‑Gerês National Park are 7 km distant, while Arado and Tahiti waterfalls sit 10 km away. Airport access is 96 km.

The place was clean and friendly, and everything was fine.

The room was very good with a small balcony; it was quiet (with shutters closed, the road noise was muted); it’s close to the city center and the start of hikes; a fridge, microwave, and coffee/tea supplies are available in the living room; we could check in at 13 h, which was very appreciated! A small improvement would be a closed lounge to play cards without worrying about disturbing other guests.

The room was comfortable, spacious, and had a small balcony with a nice mountain view; the owner was very nice and letting us check in at 1 pm was a bonus, plus he lent us an umbrella one rainy evening; hikers will find the house easy to reach, but those with disabilities might struggle with the steep slope; it’s close to the city center, and the hall offers a fridge, microwave, tea, and coffee; I’ll return on my next trip to Geres; the only downside was a slight humidity smell in the bathroom and room that dissipated when opening the windows.
