The staff welcomed me with a warm smile and the building itself is a UNESCO world heritage site, perfectly positioned in Ohrid’s centre. The value for money was outstanding compared to nearby countries. The air‑conditioning unit wasn’t perfect, but given the historic setting it was understandable; the fan kept me cool enough.

The owner handed me a cold, large bottle of water, which was a nice touch. Even though my estimated check‑in time was confirmed ahead of time, no one was there; the owner arrived a few minutes after I called.
