The staff—Jack, the chef, and two unnamed ladies—were very friendly and accommodating. The manager, Evelyn, behaved poorly; she tried to bill us an extra R2000, claiming we hadn’t been charged correctly. During breakfast, a small dog wandered in and sniffed our legs. The unit wasn’t cleaned properly when we checked in, and there was no outside light near the braai area.

The welcoming and friendliness of the staff was a big tick in the box. Jack welcomed us and check us in humbly and friendly, through out the whole stay he made us have a comfortable stay always helpful and available. Chef Nathi and his support staff were absolutely great, the food was delicious and decent. The rooms were very comfortable and spacious. 1. The parking for guest is very far from the rooms parked at reception entrance. 2. The shower water regulation system is not functional needs to checked and fixed it’s either you have extremely hot or cold water showering

I appreciated the quietness and the staff, but there’s no emergency button in case you need it.

Sambane Game Lodge is the perfect escape from city life; Maurice was a brilliant host, Nathi a wonderful chef who made sure we were well fed. I only stayed one night and had to leave Drikus, the Jack Russell dog, behind; he almost followed me home.
